Fuel consumption is a problem that everyone cares about, but do you know that higher fuel consumption is also related to dirty fuel tanks?

 

Although the fuel tank is in a semi-closed state when refueling, it is fully closed at other times. However, as the age of the car increases, the use time becomes longer, and there will be more and more precipitated impurities in the fuel tank. A car rider went to a 4S shop to clean the fuel tank. He found that besides the impurities and sediments, there were still tin foil and plastic sheets. It should have been accidentally dropped when the fuel treasure was added. When more and more impurities enter the fuel tank to settle, slowly more and more deposits will enter the car's engine as the fuel enters, causing serious wear and tear to the engine and increasing fuel consumption.

 

Even if the fuel tank itself is equipped with protective measures, it can be waterproof and insulated. However, if the vehicle is idling for a long time, it may be necessary to clean the oil circuit at 30,000 kilometers. Or replace the filter. Otherwise, once the oil circuit is blocked and the air pressure in the fuel tank is too high, the car will shake during driving. Under the influence of high pressure, the fuel tank is very easy to crack. In severe cases, oil leakage will occur and fuel consumption will increase.

 

How to clean the fuel tank? Fuel tank cleaning is divided into two steps, external and internal.

 

External: It is necessary to check the fuel tank, fuel pipes, joints and other places for depression or oil leakage. Remember to check whether the fixing screws of the fuel tank bracket are tightened.

 

Inside: Open the fuel tank port, take out the filter barrel, and suck out the oil. Only about 30L of gasoline is left in the tank. Insert the cleaned plastic pipe from the fuel filler port to the bottom of the fuel tank, and gently blow the gasoline at the bottom of the fuel tank to roll over to achieve the cleaning effect. When cleaning, you can use a clean cloth to block the fuel filler nozzle, and then constantly change the position and direction of the plastic tube to avoid rubbing the oil level sensor as much as possible. After blowing for 20 minutes, the gasoline is released, and the impurities in the gasoline will flow out together, and then clean oil is added again. It should be noted that the fuel discharged from the fuel tank should be used after 72 hours of precipitation.
