A few days ago, FAW Car Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and decided to recall some domestic Mazda 6 models starting March 19, 2018.

Recall scope: Some domestic Mazda 6 models produced between September 18, 2008 and March 31, 2016, totaling 680,642 vehicles.

Reason for the recall: The passenger seat air bag of the vehicles within the scope of this recall is equipped with an ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant produced by Takata. When the air bag is deployed, the gas generator of the air bag may be abnormally damaged, causing fragments to fly out, injuring the occupants in the vehicle, and posing safety risks.

Solution: FAW Car Co., Ltd. will replace the co-pilot side air bag gas generators produced by other manufacturers for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.

FAW Car Co., Ltd. will entrust FAW Mazda Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. to notify users by registered mail through the dealer.
